TIM CLARKE is an interior designer in Santa Monica, who has created interiors for many Hollywood celebrities and whose work has been featured in leading publications including Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Veranda, Town & Country, and the Los Angeles Times. His design firm, TCI, has a clientele base that includes leaders in entertainment, business, and sports, and his Santa Monica retail location, Tower 20, sells one-of-a-kind beach-inspired furniture and curios.
Writer JAKE TOWNSEND has contributed to the Los Angeles Times and Condé Nast Traveler, among many other publications, and is the former West Coast editor of Wallpaper magazine. He is the author or coauthor of eleven books, including many of the acclaimed Cool Hotels series.
Award-winning photographer NOAH WEBB’s work has appeared in such publications as Dwell, Travel+Leisure, Vanity Fair, Forbes, Bon Appétit, London Sunday Telegraph, among many others.

Inspiring and helpful book

If you want to attain a soft, beachy or organic feel in a chic, tasteful and natural way, this is your book! The spaces are well designed, the photos are superb and the writing is top-notch. This book inspired us to immediately apply some of the principles and inject some Coastal Modern vibe into our newly remodeled space. Wish we had ordered this book before starting our project. (We had a good experience with the seller and received the book quickly, too.)

Save Your Money.......

As a design book, this is one of the worst ones I have ever read (and I have read over 80 of them). The photos are grainy and contain only partial shots of rooms (by example, a table and a lamp, or a corner of a room with a single chair). When I purchase an interior design book, I want to see full shots of rooms, not close-ups of a table setting, or the edge of a rug. Granted, it does contain some photos of "full-room views," but they are few and far between. In one chapter, the author describes one house as being "exceptionally large," yet the following photos of it are of an edge of a window, and the very end of a dining table????
If you want a book with great pictures of the ocean and beaches, go ahead and buy this one. In my opinion this is more of a "photos as art" book, rather than an illustration of interior design concepts.
